2026 Wrap up
/Thank you to all who helped celebrate 20 years of fighting pancreatic cancer with us!
On July 17-18, 2026, we gathered in Columbus, Ohio, to “serve hope” at the 20th Annual Mary Diaz Memorial Tennis Tournament. Undeterred by poor air quality, over 100 tennis enthusiasts participated in pre-tournament drills and camaraderie at the Player’s Club Friday evening. The next morning, 150 players participated in round-robin doubles play at Upper Arlington High School. During a lunch break, players learned about groundbreaking news in pancreatic research from Dr. Ann Noonan of The Ohio State University James Comprehensive Cancer Center, and we recognized this year’s tournament honoree, Patrick Finneran.
When thunderstorms forced us indoors, our generous collaborators, The Player’s Club, Elysium and the Racquet Club had courts available for us. The end of the tournament picnic featured the presentation of two awards. The Sue Simon Spirit Award went to Michael Pace and the Gary and Linda Kennedy family in honor of their long-time generous and enthusiastic commitment to the tournament. The Ezekiel Davis Sportsmanship Award was given to Sage Johnson, whose positive attitude and willingness to support others was on display all weekend.
The 20th annual tournament raised over $100,000 to support, treat and cure those affected by pancreatic cancer! Thank you!
