2017 Honoree: Doug Campbell

Wesley Allen Douglas Campbell II, affectionately known as Dougie, was born in 1945 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He spent most of his childhood in South Carolina and Florida before moving to Ohio.  He had a long decorated career that included being a qualifying and life member of the Million Dollar Round Table in 1986.

Away from work, Doug was an avid golfer and active in Our Lady of Victory parish and the Knights of Columbus.  Doug was also very active in the sport of field hockey. He created the Central Ohio Field Hockey Officials' Association. In doing so, he reshaped officiating and created a model for the state. The growth that emerged was due to his leadership and passionate caring personality. He knew when to be tough, when to laugh and when to lead.  Although Doug passed away from pancreatic cancer on November 27, 2015 his spirit lives on through the Doug Campbell Courage Scholarship, created in his honor for central Ohio field hockey players who have shown similar courage in their lives.

The tournament is grateful to have the Campbell family as part of the 2017 tournament: Doug's wife Heather, sons Wesley and Graham and his daughter Wynne, along with all those who considered Doug their friend and advisor and who miss his big smile and sense of humor.
